Using Markdown Files With Together

Together can work with Markdown files, which can be shown and edited as plain text on both Mac and iOS. You can use stationery to create new Markdown files easily in Together, and Together for Mac can preview Markdown files too. A full list of supported Markdown file extensions is shown at the bottom of this page.

To create a Markdown file in Together for Mac, create a plain text document and rename it:

  • Click the arrow next to the Stationery button in the toolbar and choose Plain Text from the menu shown, or choose File > New From Stationery > Plain Text from the main menu.
  • Click the Info (i) button in the toolbar, or press ⌘I.
  • Uncheck “Hide Extension”.

  • Tap the action button (arrow pointing out of a rectangle) and tap Save as Stationery.
  • Enter a name and tap Save.

Again, if you are signed into iCloud, this stationery will be shared with all your Macs and iOS devices.
