Markdown
- There is now a dedicated Markdown editor with syntax highlighting and preview.
- Tap the Preview button to toggle between the editor and preview.
- Select text and use the toolbar for strong, emphasis, strikethrough, to increase the blockquote level, or convert the selected lines to ordered or unordered lists.
- Select text and use the menu for strong, emphasis, strikethrough, code, and to copy HTML.
- When editing, lists will automatically continue on a new line.
- Tap the activity button and choose Markdown Settings to change the editor or preview style, manage styles, choose the default view mode (edit or preview), and various settings that affect the editor and preview.
- The editor uses styles compatible with MacDown. The file extension must be “.style” and the syntax is described here.
- Any CSS stylesheet can be used for the preview.
- Markdown settings and stylesheets will be stored in iCloud, when Keep It is set to use iCloud.
- Export Markdown files in their original format, or as RTFD or HTML using the Export activity.
- Show a word count by tapping the activity button and choosing Show Word Count. The word count is for the rendered text.
Encrypted Items
- Encrypt or decrypt items by tapping the activity button and tapping Encrypt or Decrypt.
- Use Face ID or Touch ID to view or decrypt items when an encryption password has already been set.
- Encrypted items can be temporarily viewed and edited, and will be hidden when navigating away or switching apps.
- Files are encrypted as Zip files with AES-256 encryption.
- Set an encryption password when first encrypting an item, or in Library settings.
- Change the encryption password in library settings. Encrypted items will need to be downloaded so their passwords can be changed.
- When exporting folders to other apps (or exporting all iCloud Data), you’ll be offered to decrypt encrypted items, or skip.
Text Editing
- Show a word count in editable text views by tapping the activity button and choosing Show Word Count.
- Tap the word count to choose whether to show characters, words, sentences or paragraphs, or to hide the word count.
Notes
- Notes can now be exported as RTF, plain text or HTML files using the Export activity.
- The Save to Files activity will no longer be offered for notes. Use the Export activity instead.
- Notes are now always converted to RTFD files when exporting with drag and drop.
Media Files
- Improved viewer for video that supports full screen, AirPlay, etc.
- Improved viewer for audio that shows artwork, metadata (if available) and the duration.
Sharing
- Swipe left on any list and tap the ellipses icon to copy a clickable link to the list.
- In list view, swipe left and tap the more button to copy a link to an item.
- In icon view, copy an item link using the menu you see after long-pressing on items.
Mail Messages
- After a mail message is imported a summary will be extracted along with sent and received dates, which will be used as the creation and modification dates of the corresponding items.
- Disable the import of dates from mail messages in Keep It’s Settings.
- Fixed an issue where some mail messages would not be displayed correctly.
General
- Improved the behaviour of the “When first saved” setting for automatically naming notes and stationery items. Keep It will now keep updating the name the first time the item is edited, but will stop if the item is manually renamed, or the file is updated from iCloud.
- Improved summaries for notes and text files.
- When “Show Number of Items” is enabled, the count will indicate whether or not the items were found as part of a search.
- When subscriptions expire, it’s now possible to export the entire library as a folder or ZIP file.
- Added support for viewing and editing Fountain files as plain text.
Fixes
- Fixed an issue where not all items in folders may be exported with drag and drop.
- Fixed a performance issue when viewing large plain text documents.
