Siri
- Added the ability to create notes with Siri. If the default stationery is an editable text format (note, rich text, plain text, Markdown), a new item will be created from that stationery instead.
- Added the ability to append text to notes, plain text files, rich text files and Markdown files with Siri.
- Added the ability to search for items with Siri by name, content or dates.
- Regularly viewed items may be suggested by Siri as shortcuts on iOS 12.
Search
- When searching, suggestions will be shown above the keyboard. Choosing suggestions will add them to the search field, allowing complex searches to be created.
- Tap and hold on a search suggestion to choose alternatives ways to match the result.
- Focus suggestions using any of the following keywords followed by a colon: name, kind, tag, label, bundle, date, created, modified, added, before, after.
- Use any of the following keywords followed by a colon and some search text and tap Search to convert the keyword into a token: name, tag, comments, source, contents, date, created, modified, added, before, after.
- Keep It will attempt to auto-detect days, dates and terms like “today” or “yesterday” in the search field and show appropriate suggestions or convert to a token as described above.
- When searching, found text will be highlighted in notes, rich and plain text documents, Markdown files and previews, mail messages, PDFs and web pages.
- Disable highlighting of found text by tapping Edit above the item list, then Settings, then Search, and switching “Highlight Found Content” off.
- Added an “Include nested folders and bundles” option for saved searches that target folders.
- Added a “does not contain” condition for name, comments, source and filename.
- In Library Settings, “Spotlight Indexing” has been renamed to “Content Indexing” as one is no longer dependent on the other. Toggling this off and back on again will cause the content of all items to be reindexed.
Lists
- To see Unfiled items, tap Edit above the Lists view, then settings, and switch “Show Unfiled” on. The Unfiled list will be shown below all other folders and bundles.
- To see items with No Label, tap Edit above the Lists view, then settings, and switch “Show No Label” on.
- Add or remove favorites by swiping left and tapping the More button.
- Fixed a performance issue when selecting a folder with lots of bundles.
Favorite Lists
- See favorite lists by tapping the star icon above the lists view.
- Tap a favorite list to show the items it contains.
- Tap Edit to rearrange or remove favorites.
Item List
- It’s now possible to show zero preview lines in the item list.
- The date and summary are now shown on the same line.
- It’s now possible to hide the date.
- It’s now possible to always show the Kind at the start of the summary.
- It’s now possible to scroll the entire list when using the tag filter on iPhone (or iPad in split view).
Markdown
- Added the ability to paste Markdown links from copied URLs.
- When previewing Markdown files, code marked with a language in fenced code blocks will now be include syntax highlighting (internet connection required).
- Find text in Markdown documents by tapping the Find button in the keyboard toolbar.
- On iPad, drag items to Markdown documents to create clickable links to those items.

Notes & Rich Text Documents
- Tap the search button to find text and step through the results.
- The Add Link button has been moved from the toolbar to become one of the options seen when tapping the Add button, and is included in the text editing menu.
- On iPad, drag items from the list to editable text documents to insert a clickable link to the item.
- On iPad, drag links, images, and text to notes and rich text documents.
Web Content
- Find and highlight occurences of text in web pages by tapping the search button in the navigation bar.
Plain Text Documents
- Find text in plain text documents by tapping the Find button in the navigation bar.
- Drag links and text to plain text documents.
PDFs
- Find text by tapping the Find button in the navigation bar.
- Highlights with notes are now indicated by a triangle on the corner of the highlight.
Organizing Items
- When choosing to add an individual item to a bundle, any current bundles will be indicated.
- When choosing to change the label on an item, the current label (if any) will be indicated.
- When choosing to move an individual item to a folder, the current folder (if any) will be indicated.
- When adding tags to an individual item in the list, any current tags on the item will not be shown.
- It’s now possible to edit an item’s Date Added in the Info view.
iCloud
- Tags on items can now be shared between users. Initially, the owner’s tags will replace any other participant’s tags.
- The icon of the All Items list now indicates when iCloud is unreachable.
- When first saving to iCloud, progress is now shown for for the “Preparing to save” step.

X-Callback-URLs
- When creating a new item from text, if the default stationery is an editable text format (note, rich text, plain text, Markdown), then Keep It will create a new item of that type instead.
- It’s now possible to specify a format when creating a new item from text. File extensions for notes (including “note”), Markdown documents, rich and plain text files, are all acceptable.
- It’s now possible to append text to editable text files, as well as notes.
- It’s now possible to add attachments to rich text files, as well as notes.
