General

  • .Mac Sync Support - Together can now sync with .Mac. Syncing can be enabled in the Library Manager (choose Together > Library Manager from the menu).
  • Added AppleScript support for browsing and working with the library, importing files and URLs and exporting.
  • Improved Undo for changes made to items in the library.
  • Separate Yojimbo importer available for download.

Groups

  • Smart Groups can now be based on other groups.
  • Added a Group Info panel that can be shown by choosing File > Show Group Info from the menu.
  • Custom group icons can be specified in the Group Info panel by dragging or pasting the image.
  • Comments for Groups - groups can now have freeform comments, shown in the Group Info panel.
  • Group Tagging - groups can now have tags associated with them that will be applied to any items added to those groups, also in the Group Info panel.

Items

  • Performance improvements when moving files between folders and groups or to the Trash.
  • Drag / Copy Item Link - you can now copy or drag a clickable link to an item in Together by choosing Item > Copy Item Link or by dragging the icon shown in the Info view.
  • Change Encryption Password - can now change the encryption password in Together and re-encrypt all encrypted items' files to use the new password.
  • Encrypted files are now compatible with Time Machine.
  • Performance, memory and stability improvements when encrypting large files.
  • Together now records the Date Imported for items. This is shown in the Info view, item list and used in smart groups.
  • Copy tag names to Spotlight comments option added to Advanced preferences.

Import

  • Web PDFs - Together can now create PDFs of web pages as an alternative to web archives. Unlike the PDFs created through printing, these are not paginated and are saved complete with backgrounds.
  • Automatic import - Together can now automatically import files and folders added to its library folders. Enable this in Import preferences.
  • Import Hot Key - A hot key can now be set to import from the active application. Currently this supports the Finder, most web browsers, NetNewsWire, Apple Mail messages and mail messages from Microsoft Entourage.
  • Bookmarklets - Together can now import using Bookmarklets. Click the Bookmarklets button in Import preferences to install the bookmarklets in your web browser.
  • Import Web Archives in Background - When importing from other applications, Together will now download web archives in the background rather than in the Library window.
  • Download Other Web Files - When importing files that are not appropriate to be saved as web archives, Together will download the original file.
  • Together Library import - import other Together libraries using File > Import > Import Together Library.
  • Duplicate file check when importing into groups. Previously Together only checked for duplicate files when importing into folders; when importing into groups it would create a unique name for the file.
  • When dragging images from WebKit-based web browsers, Together will now match the original file type.
  • Images dragged from WebKit-based web browsers use the image's "alt" text as a suggested filename.
  • Added an option to Import preferences to import dragged text as notes or save in the original format.
  • Import Spotlight comments from files - Together can now import Spotlight comments as tags or comments, as appropriate. Supports tags prefixed with &, @ or the Punakea format and will convert underscores to spaces. Enable this in Import preferences.
  • Import Spotlight keywords from files as tags. Enable this in Import preferences.
  • Performance improvements when importing thousands or tens of thousands of files.

Library Window

  • Thumbnail icons for web archives and bookmarks - these can be enabled in General preferences.
  • Tag browser can now choose which system tags to show.
  • Tag browser now has an option to show items in the Trash.
  • Large group icons can now be enabled in View Options.
  • Different icons sizes for landscape and portrait item lists can be chosen in View Options.
  • The Enter key can now be used to rename items while the Return key will open items.
  • When editing names for groups, items or tags in the tag browser, changes can now be cancelled with the Escape key.
  • The Portrait mode info view is now split into two, so the item's information is always shown on the left and the right side can be a choice of File Info, Comments, Tags or the Where view.
  • Added a "Hide extension" checkbox to the Info view.
  • Improved the appearance of the icon that appears in the Info view when multiple documents are selected.
  • Added an optional Tags column to the landscape item list.
  • Added an optional Comments column to the landscape item list.
  • Added a "New Subfolder" alternate menu command that appears for the New Folder command when holding the Option key.
  • Add Tags panel now remembers whether "Entire Group" or "Selected Items" was chosen.

Shelf

  • Favorites for Shelf - the Shelf now has a new section for favorite groups or items. To add favorites drag them from the Library window to the Shelf.
  • Quick Look for the Shelf - use the Spacebar to see a Quick Look preview of items in the Shelf.
  • Import Options - when importing from other applications the Shelf can now show options to add tags, comments, label and rate the imported items. This can be enabled in Shelf preferences.
  • Hide Shelf tab - Shelf preferences now has an option that can hide the Shelf tab. In this mode the Shelf will open when dragging to the edge of the screen.
  • Tag and group Quick Notes in Shelf.
  • Search Progress for Shelf.
  • The up / down arrow keys can now be used to select the previous / next search result while the search field has focus.

Previews

  • Together will now offer to download URLs specified for web archives or web PDFs that cannot be displayed as web pages.
  • Can now remove formatting in notes and text files using the Format > Remove Formatting command.
  • Text highlight for notes and text documents.
  • New Preview Preferences allows various options to be set for all the different preview types.
  • Find panels are now available for PDFs and web pages.
  • Bookmark files can be auto-renamed when the title is changed.
  • Can now select text in imported emails.
