Notes

In Notes settings, select “Constrain display sizes” to constrain the size of images in all notes, and choose from four different sizes.
The “Show Small Images” setting in the Format menu has been changed to “Constrain Image Sizes”, and only applies to the current note. The size used will be the one on Notes settings, but this setting only applies to the current note (the “Thumbnail” size matches the old behaviour).
On macOS 15.0 Sequoia and later, highlights in rich text files are preserved when converted to notes.

Notes & Rich Text

Highlights added to notes and rich text documents now have a new appearance.
Add and remove rows in a table by clicking the table button in the format bar, or using the items in the contextual menu.
The name generated for notes and rich text documents will now include the filename of the first attachment, if any.
Settings for pasting web page text have moved from Notes settings to a separate panel that you can access by choosing Format > Web Page Text from the menu.

Encrypted Items

As well as Touch ID, when available, you can now authorize to view or export encrypted files with a companion device, such as Apple Watch.
In Advanced settings, select “Always authenticate with password” to always enter a password rather than use Touch ID or a companion device.

Images

Improved the load time of large standalone images.

Web Links

Web Link settings now includes all the relevant options previously in Import settings, along with the autoplay setting from Files settings.
A featured image will now be shown in Reader mode. This can be disabled in Web Links settings.
A featured image will now be included in minimal web pages. This can be enabled in Web Links settings.
Fixed an issue that could occur when an unsaved web link’s URL changes.
Items for Look Up, Translate, and more are now shown in contextual menus for web links and saved web pages.

Items List

When dragging items in icon view mode, the original items no longer disappear from view.
Fixed an issue where it would not be possible to swipe back from viewing a web page or movie in Compact Mode.
The summary for PDF documents now shows the number of pages in the document.
Improved the appearance of the Kind shown in the items list.

Bookmarks Files

When importing a bookmarks HTML file, select “Include dates if available” to use the added and modified dates exported from Firefox, Chrome (date added only) and possibly other browsers as the dates on the created bookmark file.
Keep It now includes the added and modified dates when exporting a bookmarks HTML file.
Only HTTP and HTTPs links are imported.

Import and Export

Import exported Keep It libraries by choosing Keep It > Import > Exported Library from the menu, and select the folder that contains the “Files” folder and metadata file. This works for libraries exported with Property List format metadata for Keep It 1.x and 2.x, but searches are only preserved for libraries exported with Keep It 2.6 or later.
When exporting the library or a particular list with encrypted items, Keep It will now prompt for the encryption password before the export begins.
When exporting a library and choosing to include metadata, that file is now always in property list format to ensure it can be imported again.
The Keep It > Library > Export iCloud Data menu item has been renamed to “Export Library”, and is available whether or not the library is using iCloud.
When importing mail messages via Scripts or Keep It’s automator workflow, the file extension will now be hidden.

Search

Suggestions for labels, tags, and attachments now only include matches from the current list.
Improved searching by file type or attachment type.
Improved the appearance of the Kind shown in search suggestions, and saved search editor.
Attachment search suggestions are more concise.
The suggestion for untagged items now shows a tag icon with a slash through it.
Fixed an issue where using the search field may have no effect after switching to another list from a saved search that was modified in the search field.
Fixed an issue indexing mail attachments that have no filename.

General

Choose Edit > Insert Date & Time > Formats from the menu to choose ISO 8601 as the format for inserting dates and times. When the date format is set to “ISO 8601”, the time format will be too, and vice versa. These dates are always in the local time zone, rather than GMT.
Worked around a crash that could occur when generating thumbnails on Intel-based Macs.
Fixed an AppleScript issue where changing the created or modified date on an item wouldn’t update the file.
