iPadOS 15
- Pinch to open a selected item in the list in its own window.
- Items opened in new windows will now be shown in the centre of the screen.
- Use ⌘P to print notes, rich text, plain text, Markdown previews, PDFs, and web pages.
- Keyboard commands are now grouped in named menus.
Notes
- After editing the default note styles, Keep It will ask whether to apply those styles to the current note.
- Choose Reset Style from the text editing menu to reset the style of text to the current default (applies to notes created with Keep It 1.11 and later only).
- Added “Find in Note” to the activity menu to show the find field when not editing.
Notes & Rich Text Documents
- The first page of PDF attachments can now be shown in place. Tap and hold on an attachment to toggle between View As Icon and View In Place.
- Scan text using the camera on supported iPhone / iPad models with iOS 15 / iPadOS 15 by tapping the (+) button and choosing Scan Text from the menu shown.
- Added an “Adapt Colors for Dark Mode” option to text settings, which is on by default, and only effective when dark mode is in use. This will invert the brightness of font colors in dark mode for readability. To access this setting, tap Aa above the keyboard, then the action (…) button.
- On iOS 15, the text and background color pickers now appear at half the height of the screen, and can be resized.
Rich Text
- Added “Find in File” to the activity menu to show the find field when not editing.
Markdown
- Added “Find in File” to the activity menu to show the Find field when not editing.
- Specify custom HTML for the
<head>
section a preview in Markdown Settings: when a Markdown document is being viewed, tap the activity button > Markdown Settings > Settings > Preview Settings > Custom Header HTML.
All Editable Text Documents
- Scan text using the camera on supported iPhone / iPad models with iOS 15 / iPadOS 15 by tapping the icon in the text editing menu.
PDFs
- Navigate to a particular page in a PDF document by tapping the activity button and choosing Go To Page.
- Added a Convert to Note activity item. When chosen Keep It will confirm that you want to convert the PDF to an attachment on a new note. Encrypted items that are being viewed cannot be converted.
Images
- Added a Convert to Note activity item. When chosen Keep It will confirm that you want to convert the image to an attachment on a new note. Encrypted items that are being viewed cannot be converted.
Lists
- The New Folder / Bundle / Label / Saved Search menu items have now been moved to a New List submenu in the contextual menu.
- Rename lists in the list by tapping and holding to show the contextual menu, and choosing Rename.
- Move folders, bundles and saved searches by tapping and holding to show the contextual menu, and choosing Move.
Tags
- Added the option “Use hashtags in text files” to Settings. When enabled, hashtags in notes, rich text, plain text and Markdown files will become tappable to begin filtering for that tag. The hashtags will be used as the item’s tags when the files are saved.
- Added the option “Allow numeric hashtags” to Settings. When enabled all-numeric hashtags will be allowed (like Apple Notes, but unlike social media).
Search
- Saved searches can now match favorite items without needing to target the Favorites list.
Share Extension & Import View
- Recent notes are now shown below “Add to Note” for links, images, and files.
- Large file imports will now be saved to iCloud immediately, when in use.
- Icons are now shown next to notes or other editable text items in the Where lists.
Shortcuts
- The “Get Items from Keep It” shortcut has been renamed “Find Keep It Items”, and the Get Keep It Items / Bundles / Folders / Labels actions have been renamed to Find Keep It Items / Bundles / Folders / Labels.
- Find Items in Keep It can now match whether an item is a favourite.
General
- Performance improvements when scrolling the items list in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15.
- The maximum depth of folders on iCloud has been removed.
